December 2017: England member firm Mills & Reeve this year secured 44 top-tier practice areas in The Legal 500 and 24 Band 1 rankings in Chambers UK 2018. In addition, 17 of its associates were named “next generation lawyers” in The Legal 500. March 2017: England member firm Mills & Reeve has announced its completion of a merger agreement with London law firm Maxwell Winward. Maxwell Winward is renowned for its real estate, surety, projects and construction practices, enabling Mills & Reeve to further develop its real estate and project and construction practices in London. The merger will take effect June 1, 2017. The firm’s senior partner, Justin Ripman, said, “This merger will enable us to substantially grow our presence in the City. It helps realize a key aim of our 2020 strategy to expand our offering to London-based and international clients by successfully leveraging our nationwide network of leading legal experts.”
